Course Description:
This year VHSSA Research Camp offers an intensive 2-day in-person synchronous program with a focus on crafting a scholarship-winning PhD proposal specifically in interdisciplinary areas of arts and humanities. This research writing program would be beneficial for graduate students (last year undergraduate students and master students or fresh graduates) who are seeking opportunities for PhD studies with full funding/scholarship abroad or within Vietnam. Participants hold research interests in multiple areas: education and pedagogy, ELT/TESOL, linguistics, cultural studies, communication and media, sociology, anthropology, arts, etc.
There are four classes within 2 days on the campus of University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Thu Duc, HCMC. Structured as a colloquium and led by 2 instructors, it is a space to explore the craft in writing of a potential PhD proposal that is grounded in theories and literature in relation to different evolving research questions. This includes a walk-through of framing ideas, comprehensive topics, potential gaps and current/existing research problems, thesis statement, strong research questions, theoretical bases and literature review, methodologies and methods, and implications, and a do-able timeline for a PhD research project. Given the expertise of instructors, this program might be drawn to those with an interest in qualitative research and mixed-methods design.

Hi Akuntansi,
Thank you for your interest in our Research Camp.
In the previous research camps, there were a few funding opportunities as financial aid via discounts on the participation fees for undergrads and those in need.
